As the Goddess Isis, or as Biblical Eve, Isis is the serpent goddess. The majuscule (capital) letter S is a picture of the Sacred Asp of Isis.
Isis was "twice-wise." She was the goddess of "double-wisdom." The Sacred Asp of Isis was her "double-wisdom" icon. The name Isis is derived from hiss hiss, two hisses of the sacred asp. Isis was the mother of Heru, the Hawk God. The name Heru is derived from ur ur ur, the whirring sound of hawk's wings. Assur was the deified ancestor of both Isis and Heru. The name Assur is a compound of the names Isis and Heru. The name Assur is derived from hiss + ur, the hiss of the asp, and the whirr of hawks wings. The Hawk God and Serpent Goddess were powerful symbols in Pagan religion and culture. The hiss of the asp and the whirr of hawk's wings are powerful and meaningful sounds in our languages even to this day. The Serpent Goddess, Isis, is the same person as Biblical Eve who spoke to the serpent in the Garden of Eden. They're both the "mother of all humankind." According to the Biblical tale of human origins, the serpent is a symbol of evil because Eve and the serpent caused the "fall of man" downward from a pristine state of grace. According to monotheism, the awakening of humankind from pristine grace was the great evil that Eve wrought upon humankind. Evolution is evil. Evil evolved out of the vulva of Eve. Evolution was Eve's great sin for which she and the serpent have been bitterly reviled. Paganism holds the opposite view. Evolution was Isis' great virtue. Isis didn't cause the "fall of man" downward from a pristine state of grace. Isis raised humankind upward from a pristine state of ignorance. Wisdom evolved out of the womb of Isis. "Twice-wise" Isis is the ancestral mother of the species "twice-wise" Homo sapiens sapiens.
The minuscule letter s is a picture of a cobra snake of the crawling on the earth kind.
The serpent goddess is the goddess of "double-wisdom. She is the essence of two in all things. The so-called "Arabic" number 2 is a picture of a cobra poised to strike. Adding the letter s, the hiss of the asp, to any noun begets two nouns. The name of Isis, the essence of the goddess, and the hiss of the asp are essential parts of our language. The word essence is composed of Isis + ence i.e., Isis and son. The suffix -ence adds the essence of being sentient to the word senti-ence. The suffix -ence is a compound of the son of Isis and the hiss of the asp. The word science is a compound of the son of Isis and two hisses of the asp.
ADDENDUM #1 The hiss of the asp and the whirr of hawk's wings, hiss + ur and ur + hiss, are natural sounds that have become structural parts of our language and culture. The name of Assur is composed of hiss + ur, the hiss of the asp and the whirr of hawk's wings. The names Osiris, Sirius, Caesar, Czar, Aesir, Cyrus, Syria, Assyria, and many others are, derivatives of the name Assur. The words sire, sir, sure, assure, seer, vi-zier, and ad-vi-sor are also derivatives of the name Assur. Hence all of those names and words (along with many others) are derived from the hiss of the asp and the whirr of hawk's wings.
In this version of the Judgment Scene, a hawk and serpent motif soars above Assur seated on his Judgment Throne. The word soar is derived from hiss + ur, the hiss of the asp and the whirr of hawk's wings. The hawk and serpent motif from the Judgment Scene is the source of the winged Uraeus symbol of the Pagan religion. Assur and Isis are the Pagan Adam and Eve. They are the source, from which we all sprang. The word source is derived from hiss + ur, the hiss of the asp and the whirr of hawk's wings. The name Uraeus is derived from ur + hiss, the whirr of hawk's wings and the hiss of the asp. (See the Sun wing page of this web site.)
Chinese dragons, Siamese dragons, Welsh dragons, and Mexican dragons all trace their origins to the same source. The winged dragon atop this Zapotec burial urn from Mexico traces the Zapotecs to the same Pagan family origins as the Welsh and the Irish. Although Cymur, the Welsh dragon, has elements of other animals added to it, the Welsh dragon also traces its roots to Isis and Heru. The name Cymur (Sim-ur) is derived from hiss + M (mother) + ur. Cymur (Sim-ur) is the mother dragon of the Cymry (Sim-ree). The Cymry (Sim-ree) are the Celtic people of Wales. Their origins are revealed in their name. The name Cymry (Sim-ree) is a variation of Sim+UrRe. That is Isis Mother plus Ur, the Hawk God plus Re, the Sun God. The Welsh are of the same Pagan family of UrRe Areans as were the Sumerians, Akkadians, and Nile Delta Egyptians discussed on the Sunwing page of this web site.
Resurrect Isis. We are OneWorldFamily of EarthMother's children. She loves us all.
